So, these past couple months have been a whirlwind. Can you believe we’re already at the end of February?! I’m lucky that the New Year energy has actually carried through until now. Just yesterday I managed to go bouldering properly for the first time in about five years. I’m still sore, but I would love this to become a regular thing. #fitnessgoals!
Anyway, looking forward, here’s what my week looks like:
This week, I need to…
1. Get a solid outline done for Shape of the World and really drill deep with the characters for this rewrite. Rewriting a novel from almost scratch is probably one of the most difficult things that I’ve ever had to do. Like seriously. It hurts.
2. Keep up writing about 1k of actual prose per day and revise at least one chapter properly for next week’s workshop critique.
3. Try to get back into my morning pages habit. Somewhere back there I dropped it, and I really need to pick it up again–it’s probably one of the most helpful creativity tools I ever had the pleasure of using.
Six of Crows. Or basically Oceans Eleven with Grisha. And what’s not to like? A magical heist novel? Yes, please! Bonus points for featuring the most lovable psychopath since Sherlock.
Aside from that, it’s mostly just lectures and work, i.e. researching creative collectives for my project with Dying Arts Press and making coffee.
So much coffee.
